College & University Employment & Vocational Support

we connect now, university, college, autism, special needs, autisticWhen Gabriela McCall Delgado was a freshman in college back in 2008, she created "We Connect Now", an innovative and ground-breaking website designed to help individuals who like herself, are faced with learning challenges.

One of the primary goals of the site is to connect and integrate college students who have disabilities as a virtual community and provide them with a voice on important issues. Gabriela's hard work and determination have paid off, as the site has been utilized by countless colleges, universities and groups serving people with disabilities across the US and in 77 other countries.

The site represents individuals who have a wide array of disabilities and challenges, including autism, blindness, and bipolar disorder, to name only a few. Chapters continue to spring up around the world, providing in-person support to complement the site's strong virtual presence.

The "Stories" section is truly inspiring. Through the use of audio, video and written composition, students share their own personal accounts of what it's like to be a person with a disability in college.

The "Laws" menu features a host of invaluable links to regulations, pending legislation and other key legal resources to support self-advocacy efforts.

Constantly updated, the News section, Blog and Job Bulletin Board are equally indispensable resources that communicate timely information, perceptive insights and invaluable opportunities.

If you or someone you know has a disability and is interested in pursuing a college education, finding employment opportunities or simply enriching his or her life, I'd highly recommend connecting now!
